SONS Kia of Montgomery Community Scholarship

$2,000–$2,500 Academic Scholarship

SONS Kia of Montgomery is proud to invest in the future of our community
by offering academic scholarships to deserving local students pursuing
higher education.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be 16–21 years old.
  • Be a resident of Alabama or Georgia.
  • Be currently enrolled in high school, college, or planning to
    attend college.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Be currently attending or planning to attend one of the following
    institutions:

    • Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM)
    • Alabama State University (ASU)
    • Huntingdon College
    • Faulkner University
    • Alabama A&M University

Required Application Materials

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Official or unofficial high school or college transcript.
  • Written essay using the prompt listed below.
  • One signed letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach,
    principal, guidance counselor, professor, or academic advisor.

Scholarship Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of SONS Kia of Montgomery
leadership.

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic
achievement, application materials, and overall merit.

Scholarship Presentation

Selected scholarship recipients will be recognized during the SONS
Kia of Montgomery Grand Opening Celebration on
August 15, 2026.

To receive the scholarship award, recipients must be present at the
event when winners are announced unless prior arrangements have been
approved by SONS Kia of Montgomery.

Written Essay Requirement

Essay Prompt: Please describe how you plan to use your
education to make a positive impact on your community. Share your
educational and career goals, the changes you hope to create, and how
receiving this scholarship will help you contribute to others and make
a meaningful difference.

address, optional student ID number, high school status, transcript,
essay, and recommendation letter.
